The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Cross River has called for the return of power to Cross River South in 2023 to guarantee equity, fairness, and justice.

Chairman of the Council, Daniel Obo, said this in Calabar, Saturday during the Democracy Day Stakeholders Engagement organized for the youths at the NYSC state secretariat.

Obo said that since 1999, the state had enjoyed a smooth and peaceful rotation of power between the Southern, Central and Northern Senatorial Districts of the state, adding that the next governor should be a young leader.

He explained that the Council was driving an advocacy, encouraging youths to only vote for candidates from the south of the state in 2023

Speaker of Youth Parliament in Cross River State,Gideon Mbukpa and other youth leaders advised the youths to come together as a bond to demand for leadership positions and good governance in 2023.

The theme of the engagement was “The Future is now, Get Involved” and was attended by youth leaders from the eighteen local government areas of Cross River State.
