A civil rights Organization , Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HRMA) has appealed to president Bola Tinubu not to consent to the latest Bill passed by the National Assembly to amend the Nigerian Police Act 2020 which among others stipulates sixty five years as the retirement age of officers and men of the Nigerian Police.
The Executive Director, HRMA, (Buna Balogun during a press briefing in Lagos Friday, faulted the quick passage of the bill without any public hearing by members of the National Assembly.

This move according to HRMA is to retain the present Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun in office who is due for retirement on September 2024 after clocking sixty years.
