Following the murder of a retired Permanent Secretary, Adamu Jagaba, in Niger State, the police command says it has arrested an 18-year-old suspected painter.
The incident was said to have occurred on Saturday, December 7, at about 11:30 am when some yet-to-be-identified persons trespassed into a block industry located along Eastern Bye-pass, Minna metropolis, attacked and stabbed the deceased on the head and made away with his vehicle.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the police, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, said the command received a report of an incident of culpable homicide at the Tudun-Wada Division.
He added that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
It was further gathered that the police operatives of the Division visited the scene and commenced investigation into the unfortunate incident.

Abiodun revealed that on the local circulation of the vehicle details to all police points and formation within the State, at about 7 pm same date, the Police Crack Squad of the Command intercepted the vehicle along Bosso Estate road, Minna, with the 18-year-old suspect, Fatiyah Abdulhakeem.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being the victim’s car painter and visited him at his block industry located at Eastern Bye-pass via Maitumbi opposite PDP Secretariat Minna.
He further said that after discussing changing the vehicle bumper, he deliberately stabbed the deceased severally on the head and neck, also hitting him multiple times with a stapler in the office and making away with his vehicle.
The suspect also confessed that he conspired with some of the deceased workers, who gave him the target and more information in carrying out the crime adding that he has other gang members he does such heinous acts with.
The police therefore said that effort is ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang, and the suspect will be charged to court immediately after the investigation
