CUPP moves against $22.7 billion external loan

Coalition of united political parties in Nigeria, CUPP has called on the house of representatives to stop the federal government’s plan to borrow $22.7 billion foreign loan which has already been approved by the senate.

speaking at a news briefing in abuja, the CUPP spokesperson Ikenga ugo chinyere says the planned borrowing is capable of plunging Nigeria into  economic slavery if not stopped.

Cupp says what Nigeria needs at this time are capable hands and asked Nigerians to rise against the move by the government.

The coalition noted that as  the value of the naira gradually move to n400 per dollar, the borrowing will amount to n9.8 trillion.

Cupp says it has written to the lenders on the negative impact of such loan even as it approached the court to halt federal government move.
