Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has claimed that the spokesperson of the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, Ikenga Ugochinyere was attacked by suspected gunmen for breaching agreement with them.
The Governor who says he has security reports on the incident alleged that, Ugochinyere, now a PDP House of Representatives candidate in the 2023 general elections had agreed with his attackers that there will not be elections in the South East zone, but went contrary to the position.

Speaking with Journalists shortly after a statewide broadcast to mark the third year anniversary in office, Governor Uzodinma explained that the State Government had no hands in the dastardly act as being speculated by opposition parties.
Uzodimma maintains that no amount of distraction by opposition elements will stop the conduct of elections in Imo State as scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Earlier, in a broadcast to the people of the State, Governor Hope Uzodimma reeled out the progress report of his administration in the past three years, with a promise to redouble efforts in resolving the developmental and security challenges of the State.
