The Nigerian Navy says it will continue to invest in quality education to develop intellectual endowments of young Nigerians to become problem solvers and not security threats to the country.
Flagg officer commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Sanusi Ibrahim, made this known during the opening session of the Chief of the Naval Staff annual Intra command debate and quiz exhibition competition at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Calabar.

Ibrahim who was represented at the event by Commodore Geoffrey Kutishe said the impact of Insecurity in the country is affecting development, peace, and security which quality education can solve at the basic level.
He assured that Nigerian Navy will continue to invest in education and training as part of its core mandate.
On his part, the Commandant of Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Calabar, Commander Ahmed Bello, said the essence of the debate and exhibition was to discover talents that will become an asset to Nigeria in the future.
The Navy said it will continue to build manpower institutions in Nigeria to address the underlying causes of insecurity using education.
