The Nigerian Navy has warned criminals who use waterways as an escape route in their Kidnapping and other illegal businesses to shut down as it has positioned it’s combing boats to fortify some flashpoints against any illegal activities.
Speaking with reporters on how eight Suspected criminals who engage in rice smuggling were arrested along the parrot island, Calabar, Commander of Nigerian Navy Victory Ship, Commodore Idi Abbas, said riverine creeks in Cross River State have been strategically manned with security boats which makes it dangerous for kidnappers to use.
Abbas who handed over the Suspects and over one thousand four hundreds bags of smuggled rice to the representative of Operation Border Drill said the Nigerian Navy is ever ready to curb criminal activities and any forms of illegality within its area of Operations to save the Nation’s economy and its citizens.

Eight suspected criminals, four fibre wooden boats, with over one thousand four hundred rice were handed over to the customs head of Operation Border Drill in Calabar for further investigations and possible prosecutions.
