The Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, has suspended the supply of petroleum products to fuel stations within 20 kilometres of Nigeria’s borders with neighbouring countries.
The Customs service issued the directive to all its Zonal Coordinators, Operation Swift Response Sector Coordinators, Area Controllers, and Coordinators of its Strike Force teams as well as all marine commands.
This was made known in a memo dated November 6, 2019, and signed by the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Enforcement, Investigation, and Inspection, A. Chidi.
The memo reads in parts; “The Comptroller- General of Customs has directed that henceforth no petroleum product no matter the tank size is permitted to be discharged in any filling station within 20 kilometres to the border.”

The memo further directs all its recipients to ensure strict compliance with the directive.
