It was a sad day in Calabar as hoodlums under the guise of EndSARS Protesters continued to loot and set ablaze public and private property including houses of former Senate leader, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, that of a serving Senator, Gershom Bassey, and filling station belonging to the younger brother of the Governor, Frank Ayade.
The attack by the hoodlums started on Friday evening when the INEC office, NLC Office, and a Mall belonging to the wife of former Governor, Obioma Imoke were all invaded and some of them burnt down.
The governor in his broadcast said the attack was by external invaders but the joint military operations and mobile policemen have taken over the streets of Calabar to reduce the tension created by the hoodlums.
Governor Ayade had pleaded for calm and ask for forgiveness,if his government has offended the youths.
The problem started on Friday evening when the youths under the EndSARS broke into various warehouses in Calabar before other citizens joined them to cart away both food and non-food items in the three Warehouses before they set them ablaze.
Other places either destroyed or set ablaze by the hoodlums are WAEC and Jamb offices in Calabar, University of Calabar, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) office, Calabar Garment Factory, and Rice Seed and Seedlings Factory among others.
