The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has urged front-line troops to remain steadfast and resolute in their responsibilities to ensure the indivisibility of the country.

He made the statement during his feast with troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in Sokoto State, to commemorate the Christmas Day Celebration

Speaking further at the occasion, the CDS extends his appreciation to troops for their unwavering dedication and sacrifices in ensuring the safety and security of Nigeria.

A statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, said he added that the dislodgement of the re-emerged Lakurawa terrorists from their Camps in Sokoto and Kebbi States is a testament to the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s ( AFN) commitment to resolving and combating all security challenges across the theatres of operations while pledging the AFN continuous sustenance of operational tempo and posture across Military deployment both home and abroad.

General Musa assured troops of the necessary support and resources to carry out their tasks effectively, as he also encouraged troops to embrace fostering unity, understanding, and compassion in all they do.

The CDS further expressed his sincere appreciation to His Excellency Ahmed Bola Tinubu, President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, for his relentless support and the confidence reposed in him to lead members of the AFN while reaffirming AFN’s unalloyed loyalty to the Constitution of the Federal Republic.
Similarly, he thanked the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Dr Ahmad Aliyu, for his support.
The CDS also took time to visit wounded and sick soldiers of the 8th Division Nigeria Army, Sokoto, at their hospital beds.
He finally charged troops to be vigilant, stay focused, and continue to exemplify the finest military traditions.

The General officer Commanding 8 Division, Nigeria Army and Commander of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Ajose, in his response, described the feast as a testament to General Musa’s unflinching support and commitment to troops’ welfare, morale and operation efficiency of troops.
He commended the CDS for his several visits in 3 months, which he said has allowed CDS to understand and appreciate the performances and challenges faced by troops.
Major General Ajose further added that the feast is not only an opportunity to celebrate the Christmas season but ” to reflect on their collective sacrifices, achievements, and to resolve as a team.
Finally, he salutes troops with courage, resilience, and professionalism. According to him, that was instrumental to the successes recorded so far.
