Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Bello Matawalle, says the explosion at Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) in Kaduna was a ‘mere accident’ while assuring the authorities and the community that the situation is already under control.
In a statement by his Principal Superintendent of Press, Pat Ituke,
the minister said a thorough investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the explosion and to recommend measures to prevent a recurrence.
This is coming after an ordinance explosion occured at DICON in the early hours of Saturday, September 20, 2025.
One person died in the blast while several others were injured.
