Two presidential aspirants of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi will be absent from collation of the party’s primary election results by the David Mark-led faction.

This information is coming two hours after one of the three aspirants, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen posted on his X handle that he will not be attending the event.

Hayatu-Deen on his social media handle expressed worry over reports coming from states across the country indicating that there is widespread vote rigging and buying.

The presidential aspirant further explained that apart from reports he also witnessed some of the electoral misconduct when he was on ground to vote in his home state of Borno in North-East Nigeria.

The former chairman of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group further informed his supporters that in due time he will be announcing his next political step ahead of the 2027 elections.

AIT.live sought from Hayatu-Deen’s camp whether he will be defecting to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC as speculated by some media reports but it declined, saying in due time it will unveil his next political move.

During the primary election on Monday, the ADC presidential aspirant had commended the election process, describing it as credible and a ray of hope for Nigeria’s democracy.

Four hours after the scheduled time for commencement of collation of results, the party is yet to begin the process which will involve the 36 states and FCT Abuja.
