Delta 2022 Sports Festival : MOC/LOC inspect extent of work done

Delta 2022 Sports Festival

The Main Organising Committee (MOC) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the Delta 2022 National Sports Festival embark on inspection tour of the locations and facilities to be used for the festival that is barely 5 months to take-off.

Ismaila Abubakar Permanent secretary, federal ministry of youths and sports who led the delegation on behalf of the Minister of Youths and Sports Development Sunday Dare in the company of the Chairman Delta sports Commission Tonobok Okowa inspected facilities that will accommodate over 10.000 athletes and their officials at St Patrick’s college Asaba, St brigids hostel, Asaba technical college, Event Center that will accommodate wrestling, tennis and some other indoor games including the two indoor sports hall at Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba, Swimming Pool and the football pitch as well as the tartan tracks.

Having gone round the various locations mapped out for the festival, Ismaila said he was optimistic that if the current tempo is maintained coupled with the level of work done so far, Delta state will beat the deadline as contained in the memorandum of Understanding between the state and the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development

Tonobok who doubles as Co- Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, (L O C) said although there still exists areas that need to be strengthened, baring any unforseen circumstances everything needed for the festival would be ready on or before September ending

Tonobok promised that having known Delta state for its hospitality the 21st Sports Festival will definitely stand out from others as the state he said is poised to give its visitors the best.
