Delta state Government in its bid to ensure that non is left behind in Its drive towards providing access to quality healthcare for the residents opens a window for students in tertiary institutions across the state with the launch of Tertiary Institutions Social Health Programme (TISHIP) under the Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC).
The (TISHIP) scheme an initiative of the National Health Insurance Agency with the intention of ensuring that every student in tertiary institutions in Delta state has access to quality and affordable healthcare services has so far captured two institutions, Dennis Osadebay University Asaba and Delta state University Agbor.

Under the TISHIP programme, the students payment of yearly #7000 with their identification card will be able to access healthcare that coveres malaria, basic surgeries and other ailments from either their school clinic, health center and other accredited hospitals within the state.
Flagging off the programme at Dennis Osadebay University, Director-General of the State Contributory Health Commission Isaac Akpoveta and the Executive Chairman of the Commission Austin Obidi respectively expressed the importance of identifying with the programme that offers convenient participation for students.
Boosting the morale of the students, representative of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Christopher Chukwuji encouraged them to take full advantage of the state government affordable healthcare programme
The enrolled students were instantly issued the Contributory Health Scheme identity cards which they received with positive remarks.
The Delta Mandatory Health insurance scheme which began in 2017 by former Governor Okowa with its passage into law in 2016 when the present Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was the Speaker of the state Assembly now has over 1,864, 054 enrollments.
