Governor Sheriff Oborevwori says indications from all sectors of the economy shows that Delta state at 33 is developing steadily, hence its emerging as a power house in the comity of states in Nigeria.

Governor Oborevwori who sated this during a Thanksgiving service to mark the 33rd anniversary of the creation of the state at Government House Chapel, Asaba said though the journey has been eventful and fulfilling but fraught with trials, triumphs, and tests that metamorphosed into testimonies.

The Governor described Delta as a state that occupied a pride of place in the Nigerian Federation with its people known for their entrepreneurial spirit and ingenuity cutting across locally and internationally.

Governor Oborevwori said as the state used the anniversary to take stock of its developmental strides within its 33 years of creation, his administration through the MORE Agenda has assured the people of the State and the residents of better days ahead.

He paid tribute to former Governors and their Deputies, past and present political office holders, serving and retired civil servants, Royal Fathers, the clergy, community leaders and the citizens at home and abroad whom the Governor said contributed to the peace and progress of the state through their selflessness.

Earlier in his sermon with the theme “The Power Of Collective Thanksgiving,” the State Mission Overseer of Living Faith Church, Pastor Shiyanbade Adekunle implored the people of Delta State to always cleave unto God in all situations in life. He prayed for continuous peace and unity of the state.

The Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme read the only lesson which was taken from Psalm 136 while the Thanksgiving service featured prayers for the state.
