Delta State

Residents in Delta state have decried the sudden spate of insecurity witnessed in some parts of the state.

Some of them who spoke to ait.live in Warri, while lamenting the worrisome situation, appealed to government and security operatives to urgently clamp down on the criminals.

Just recently, two catholic priests, Reverend Father Chochos and Reverend Father Raphael, and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN Barrister Akpoje Mudiaga, were victims of kidnappers in the Ughelli and Warri axis of Delta state.

That aside, there have also been reported cases of armed robbery attacks perpetrated by some tricycle operators within Warri and its environs.

This sudden spate of insecurity has become a cause for worry for residents in the affected areas.

Most of them who now live in fear, especially those who patronize the services of tricycle riders want government and relevant security agencies to address the worsening security situation.

It is hoped that the new police boss, Wale Abass, will clamp down on criminals in the state.
