Delta Governor-elect forms 88-member transition committee

Delta state Governor-elect Sheriff Oborevwori has constituted an 88-member transition committee with a three-week mandate to produce a plan for the smooth transition from the outgoing administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and enable his government to take off on the right note on May 29.


The inauguration of the committee which took place at Government House Asaba has a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Emmanuel Nwanze as its chairman.

The 88-member transition committee has also been mandated to produce and articulate a policy document in 11 thematic areas of General Administration and Strategy, Fiscal Policy and Public Finance, Infrastructure and Utilities, Human Capital Development, Social Development, and Creative Industry.


Other areas include Entrepreneurship and Job Creation, Peace and Security, Media and Communications, Agriculture and Industries, Environment, Water Resources and Human Settlements and Energy, Oil and Gas.

The in-coming Governor who extolled what he described as Governor Okowa’s exceptional leadership qualities, said his agenda is designed to deepen the outgoing governor’s developmental strides
