Delta state governor ifeanyi okowa says through his administration’s medium- term development plan, his 6 years in office has provided a platform for Deltans to pursue their dreams thereby ensuring a reduction in youth unemployment and poverty.
This message was contained in a broadcast on Tuesday, where he explained that the 2nd phase of the state’s medium term development plan is building on the foundation of the first phase.

Part of the achievements governor okowa listed include a multi-faceted approach to job and wealth creation with emphasis on skills, civic engagement in delta communities , a boosted agricultural sector, provision of universal health coverage and an educational system that will produce thinkers, innovators and managers.
He said despite being confronted with two major crises, the economic recession of 2016 and the global covid-19 pandemic, his administration has through judicious management of resources and unwavering determination to stand firm on values made these successes possible
Governor Okowa also said under his prosperity for all Deltans mantra, decisive and swift action was taken on youth unemployment by equipping young people with vocational skills and resources to make them employable and also become entrepreneurs.
Under road and physical infrastructure, Gov. Okowa said his administration embarked on 799 road projects of 1,577.8 kilometers and 908.8 kilometers of drainage channels
