Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has performed the much anticipated ground breaking ceremony for the transformation of Effurun and Warri metropolis with expansion works on the Effurun – DSC roundabout and Flyover, the PTI junction Flyover, Enerhen junction/Marine Gate flyover and the Cloverleaf road of Effurun Roundabout.
The contract to the roads and bridge construction giants, Julius Berger PLC is put at a cost of nearly 79Billion Naira.
Governor Oborevwori during the ceremony, said the projects aimed at giving Warri and its environs a status befitting to them, was in fulfilment of one of his electoral promises to the people of the area as contained in his inaugural speech of May 29, 2923.
ait.live reports that the Effurun and Warri metropolis in the oil rich Delta State of South South Nigeria, are synonymous with constant gridlock, and chaotic traffic situations usually caused by indiscriminate parking of vehicles, street trading and all manner of disorderly activities on the major roads.

The roads remodelling and expansion projects being undertaken by the Governor Oborevwori administration in Effurun and Warri will transformation the two key towns into a mega city.
Aside the unbundling of the areas and the ecstatics, the Governor notes that the project would create employment and improve economic activities for both high and low, business owners, professionals and artisans whose services will be required in the construction value chain.
Governor Oborevwori therefore urged every stakeholder, including the contracting firm, Julius Berger PLC, to work assiduously to deliver on the set date and the immediate benefiting communities and their leaders to give the needed assistance for its speedy completion.
Both the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom and Olu of Warri thanked the Governor for giving the area a befitting status
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze said the Effurun/Warri projects was the first time Julius Berger was executing projects for the State Government.
