Delta state governor senator Ifeanyi Okowa has sworn in twelve new permanent secretaries.
During the ceremony the governor advised the secretaries not to gag subordinates nor hinder free flow of ideas that would facilitate proper coordination and growth of the civil service
Governor Okowa who gave the charge at government house in Asaba, says the best public officer is the one who receives advice from his subordinates and put them to good use.

Governor Okowa warned the new permanent Secretaries against bullying their directors and other lower grade workers rather make room for free flow of ideas that will entrench good governance for the state

Describing a good leader as one who has his ears on the ground at all times and receives advice, the governor emphasised that the appointment of permanent secretaries is based on one’s capacity and competences.
Governor Okowa further urged the newly sworn in auditor generals to work closely with the local governments to have proper direction to navigate the difficult times they are facing and to protect the government they run by speaking the truth at all times
Out of the twelve permanent secretaries sworn in, five were women in accordance with the much talked about 35% affirmation
