Delta state government inaugurates its first assembly of the state youth parliament, part of measures to nurture its youth towards positioning them into various leadership positions, and a platform for youths to be heard in the schemes of governance.
The inauguration which was preceded by an election conducted at the hallowed chamber of the State House of Assembly saw the emergence of Ohwoekevwo George Fejiro and Obuseh Gloria as speaker and deputy speaker respectively
The inaugurated Delta Youth Parliament an imitation of National Youth Parliament and the Nigerian Senate is made up of 29 members representing each of the state constituency.

A representative of Governor Okowa, Funkekeme Solomon a senior political adviser, and Ifeanyi Egwuyenga commissioner for youth development extolled the platform provided for the youths to showcase their potentials
The inauguration was at the instance of the members of the delta state lawmakers led by the Deputy Speaker Hon. Christopher Ocho, clerk of the house Lyna Ocholor and members of the state executive council.
