A former acting governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sam Obi, is dead.
Sam Obi who died at the early hours of today has been sick for some time after over four years of heart surgery, overseas.
The deceased who represented Ika northeast state constituency in the Delta State house of assembly between 2003-2015, became acting governor in 2010 after the court nullified the 2007 election of former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and ordered a rerun.

The remains of the former acting governor, Sam Obi has been deposited in a mortuary in Asaba, the Delta state capital.
