Delta state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori says his administration will continue to improve on the existing agricultural value chain that will translate to food security and job creation in the state.
Governor Oborevwori said this while fielding questions from journalists after inspecting the Accelerated Agricultural Development Scheme (AADS) at Mbiri Farm Settlement with 30 greenhouses for the cultivation of tomatoes and other vegetables as well as the Agro Industrial Park, Aboh-Ogwashiuku for rice milling.
He said the N2b special Agricultural Intervention Fund will play a critical role in the state’s current agricultural revolution.
Gov Oborevwori acknowledged that the all in one industrial parks located in Ika North-East and Aniocha South Council areas are initiatives of the immediate past administration of Gov. Okowa which were replicated in the 3 senatorial districts of the state.
He said with the greenhouse planting for the production of tomatoes and other vegetables, Delta state will not only be known as just an oil producing state but will begin to compete with other states known for agriculture in the country.
