Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has called on the various community youth leaders, traditional rulers, and opinion leaders in the state to rise up to the occasion and defend the collective will of the state from the hands of miscreants who are hell-bent on destroying it overnight.
Governor Okowa made this call at Asaba after accessing the level of carnage from the night marauders who perpetrated arson, looting, and destroyed government property.
He said the people of Delta should not allow miscreants destroy things government laboured to build for the state.

Governor Okowa visited and inspected the burnt High Court building, being one of the government facilities burnt.
He also inspected the Federal Road Safety Corps office along Asaba Onitsha Highway which had its offices razed down, including confiscated vehicles parked within its premises.
The governor pleaded with Deltans to cooperate with his government in ensuring that things return to normalcy, Governor Okowa announced the relaxation and review of the 48-hour curfew which was supposed to end today, Saturday.
He also extended his appreciation to the various security agencies in the state, youths, traditional rulers and opinion leaders for their efforts to restore peace in the state.
