Ousmane Dembele will not feature for PSG in their UEFA Champions League clash against Arsenal on Tuesday after being left behind in Paris.
The Ligue 1 champions arrived in London with plan to extend their unbeaten run in the season, after five league wins and a draw, and an opening Champions League win over Girona.
However, France star Dembele did not board the flight to the UK, amid rumours of him being dropped by his coach Luis Enrique following a misunderstanding between the two of them
Dembele will not feature against Arsenal, despite his superb form in 2024/25. The Les Bleus winger has scored four Ligue 1 goals and made three league assists so far this season.
The issue between Dembele and Luis Enrique centered around the PSG boss openly scolding the winger in the 3-1 win over Rennes at the weekend
Dembele was substituted after 82 minutes at the Parc des Princes with his manager said to be angry by his refusal to pass the ball to teammates in key moments.
The incident formed a key part of Luis Enrique’s pre-match press conference and the former Barcelona boss offered an update.
“If someone doesn’t respect the obligations to play for this team and is not ready, I will act”, he said
“This week is important, as is this match, and I want my players in the best possible condition. I decided to omit him as I want the best for my team.”
