Dethroned Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Assumes New Duties in Kaduna State.

Former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido II has resumed in two new posts as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency, and that of the Chancellor of the Kaduna State University, KASU.

At Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency, Sanusi will be working under the Chairmanship of the State Deputy Governor.

KADIPA, a one-stop investment shop in Kaduna State, will organise the 5th Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit from September 21 to 22, 2020 to be addressed by the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina, as Special Guest Speaker and the Chairperson of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (EAC) among others.

Sanusi on Sunday made his first public appearance in Kaduna where he was warmly received, since securing a court order to upturn his banishment to Nasarawa State after he was dethroned by the Kano State Government.

He also paid a courtesy visit to Governor Nasiru El-Rufai who was the last top public official to visit him while in Nasarawa, State before he moved to join his family in Lagos.

He expressed his gratitude to Governor El-Rufai describing him as a very reliable and dependable friend.

Sanusi Lamido thanked the governor for standing by him during his travails and assured, that he will do his best as a new Vice Chairman @InvestKaduna and Chancellor of the Kaduna State University, KASU”.

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, who was installed as the 14th Emir of Kano on June 8, 2014 was dethroned on March 9, 2020 for alleged “insubordination” after about 3 years of strange relations with Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

And It would be recalled that Governor El-Rufai announced Sanusi’s two new appointments just 24 hours after he was dethroned as Emir and banished to Nasarawa State.
