The Defence Headquarters has described terror warlord, Bello Turji as “a dead man walking” who will soon become part of the more than 10,000 terrorists killed by troops on the battlefield this year

The operations saw the killing of several Boko Haram, ISWAP and JAS terrorist commanders including Amir Garin Manzo, Hussaini Ardo, Abu Mhammed, Buba Kachalla Bukar, Abu Rijab, Ali Modu, Munzur Ya Audu, Abdullahi Maishayi, Abba Tukur, Abu Sule, Ari Gana, Mallam Mohamadu, Jibrila Ahmadu and Saidu Hassan Yellow. Others are Dutse Mainasara Idda, Mallam Saleh Umaru,
Mohammed Amadu, Chinemerem (aka Bam Bam), Jeremiah Uzuoma (aka Escoba), Tochukwu Awo (aka Ojoto) and Egwuatu among others.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major-General Edward Buba who provided the names of the terrorist leaders killed in battle noted that troops will go to great lengths to ensure threats to Nigeria’s national security are eliminated

Buba also urged Nigerians not to pay attention to terrorist propaganda. His remark is coming after Bello Turji released a video threatening to unleash violence on communities in Zamfara State if the military authorities fail to release their relations arrested by troops

Additionally, Major-General Buba said during the year, troops degraded the fighting capabilities of terrorists by killing 10,937 fighters, arresting 12,538 others and rescuing 7,063 hostages. Furthermore, troops recovered 8,815 weapons, 228,004 ammunition and denied the oil theft of products worth over N68.4 billion (N68,453,376,040.00) only. He noted that troops are focused on increasingly delivering tangible benefits of their operations for the good of citizens.

Additionally, troops seek to continue to heighten collaboration with neighbouring countries and regional bodies in order to tackle the menace of terrorism.

Meanwhile, the armed forces assures that, many of what was witnessed in the outgoing year, are indicative of a major defeat of the terrorists in 2025. Importantly, troops in the battlefield are in high spirits, fully committed, devoted and believe in the cause they are fighting for. Troops will be going the extra mile in the new year to get the job done, adding that the war is not for the Armed Forces alone, but for all citizens, The military therefore called for more citizens support in order to win the war.
