Normalcy has returned to the troubled Abule-Egba section of Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway after a diesel-laden tanker fell late Wednesday, spilling its content on the road and going up in flames.
The situation caused temporal gridlock lasting several hours until the fire was eventually put off by some emergency responders who rushed to the scene of the incident.
According to the statement credited to the Permanent Secretary, Lagos state Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, no life was lost but an adult male dispatch rider who sustained burnt injuries was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The tanker driver was said to have lost control while on motion leading to a sideways fall of the truck.
