The governorship candidate of the peoples Democratic Party PDP in Kogi State Dino melaye, has told residents not to allow the political tension in the state to hinder them from exercising their civic responsibility during the November 11th polls.
Melaye made the appeal while briefing newsmen after a one million walk in Lokoja, ahead of his campaign in the forthcoming governorship election.
The former federal lawmaker said the ongoing attacks on some of the opposition parties as reported in the media, could truncate efforts been made to achieve free, fair and credible governorship election.
He noted that the unnecessary sanctions imposed by the Yahaya Bello’s administration will not hinder the governorship candidates from carrying out their campaigns across the state as they are all determined to bring the needed change towards improving the lives of the people.
On Wednesday, the kogi state govt through the State Signage and Advertisement Agency, KOSSAA, had banned campaign posters from Lokoja and most part of the state besides other guidelines on the use of campaign materials to control and regulate advert displays.

In addition, political parties wishing to deploy campaign materials are to pay five million naira to the Agency while each billboard erected by parties, candidates or supporters attracts a fee of two million naira.
The sum of one million naira will be charged as fee payable to the Agency by political parties for every banner displayed in public places while refundable caution fee of fifty million naira will be charged by the Agency for the deployment of all campaign materials before, during and after the election.
