The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association NMA has suspended its planned “Sit-At-home” strike to protest alleged harassment of members by security operatives.
The doctors’ association had in a memo dated 20th May, 2020 directed all members to proceed on an indefinite strike.
The doctors have however reviewed their earlier position and reached a decision to shelf the strike after extracting assurances from the Police in Lagos to cooperate with them.
The association said it had further received assurances from the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu whose intervention helped to quickly resolve the impasse.
