The Cross River State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has commenced an indefinite strike over the kidnap of one of its members Dr Godwin Udoh.
Chairman of NMA in the State, Innocent Abang made this known during a media briefing with journalists in Calabar.
Abang said the strike which will be total and indefinite will continue until the release of the kidnapped doctor who works with the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH.

He said the Medical Association in Cross River State had told government and security agencies that anytime a medical Doctor or their dependant is kidnapped, they will embark on an indefinite strike until the victim is released.
Udoh was said to have been kidnapped in his residence at Bateba Street in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.
While assuring that the kidnapped Doctor will regain his freedom, Cross River Police Public Relations Officer,DSP Irene Ugbo said the command has deployed the anti kidnapping squad to search for him.
