Popular Nigerian cosmetic surgeon, Anuoluwapo Adepoju has been convicted on all five charges by the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State, for conducting a failed plastic surgery resulting in the death of Nneka Onwuzuligbo in 2020.
Adepoju was tried alongside her clinic, MedContour Services Ltd, on a five-count criminal charge initiated by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) in 2020.
The case commenced under the immediate past head of the FCCPC Babatunde Irukera.

Reacting to the judgement, Irukera wrote on his X account: “Dr. Anu Adepoju & her medical practice convicted in all 5 counts charged by FCCPC. The wheel of justice may grind slow, but we must see it through.
“What we need are enforced audacity & will to prosecute competently & diligently. Good day for consumers of professional services.”
