Tanker Driver

Nigerians have started donating money to the fuel tanker driver that prevented an inferno in Warri, Delta state by driving the burning fuel tanker to safety.

Recall that what could have been a tragic fire incident for residents of Agbarho town, in Ughelli North Local Council Area of Delta state was averted following the courageous action of a driver, Ejiro Otarigho who drove a burning fuel-laden tanker away from the danger zone to the river.

According to sources, the driver had just driven past a petrol station when his assistant informed him that part of the tanker was already on fire.

But the driver who noticed that they were in the midst of a densely populated town immediately asked his assistant to jump out of the tanker while he manoeuvred the burning tanker to a nearby river, which took him 25 minutes to prevent a major fire disaster.

The driver successfully made it to the Agbarho river, and eventually jumped out unhurt before the tanker was completely razed by the inferno.

The incident which occurred at 7 pm in the evening has been trending on various social media platforms with a lot of persons describing Ejiro Otarigho’s action as heroic and life-saving.

An Abuja-based lawyer, Frank Tietie on Sunday posted a cheque of 100,000 Naira drawn in the name of the tanker driver on his Facebook page.
