Nigerians have been advised to reject any attempt to discriminate against any presidential candidate based on religious identity.
The advice was given at a consultative forum of stakeholders on the 2023 elections held in Abuja.

The stakeholders consisting of Imams, Ulamas, Intellectuals and Activists discussed the major challenges facing peaceful elections and entrenchment of a democratically elected government advised Nigerians to base their choice on candidate’s ability to build bridges of consensus across the country and not sentiments .
The stakeholders also called on the presidential candidates to commit themselves to meeting the aspirations of Nigerians by ensuring peace and security in the country.
The candidates were also advised to eschew utterances capable of causing unrest in the country.
