The family of Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has denied that phone tapping equipment was found in the Abuja residence of the former Governor.
Describing the ICPC allegation as deeply unfortunate in a statement by El-Rufai’s family and signed by his son, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, he noted that it is worrisome that an established agency like the ICPC has descended into what is described as a circus of chicanery, designed to prosecute a media war rather than adhere to the rule of law.
The statement added that ICPC has ludicrously attempted to weaponize the silence of El -Rufai against him by claiming that he refused to cooperate.
The statement further noted that the list of alleged seizures of equipment presented by the ICPC is designed to conjure images of espionage and criminality.

The statement noted that the search that purportedly uncovered the items originated from a legally defective warrant, adding that the family has credible evidence that the warrant was a forgery, fraudulently procured and presented by a magistrate.
