Governments at all levels have been urged to intensify efforts towards making sure that youths, who are the future leaders, the habit of drug abuse.
The Chief Judge of Katsina State, Justice Musa Danladi, who made the call during a visit to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA Rehabilitation Centre said, Nigeria is sitting on a time bomb, waiting to explode, with the number of productive youths who engage in drug abuse in the country.
In the company of the wife of the governor, Hadiza Masari, the Chief Judge, Justice Danladi, paid a visit to the rehabilitation centre, to access the level of improvement of about 45 inmates.
Through the assistance of Governor Aminu Masari, the rehabilitation centre can train the inmates in different entrepreneurship skills, from leather works, carpentry and information technology.


The Chief Judge and the wife of the governor expressed satisfaction with the progress that the inmates have made, noting that they will come out changed human beings.
The Katsina State Commander of the NDLEA, Muhammed Ibrahim, hinted that the 45 inmates, currently in rehabilitation, are among those, who are benefiting from the first phase of the programme.

He added that they employed the techniques of family counselling, to enable them to get integrated back into society.
Certificates were presented to some of the inmates who took part in learning information technology, as well as showcasing their works to the guests.
