The Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed April 7, for continuation of hearing on the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari who is on for alleged drug dealing
Kyari, former head of the Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT, is challenging his continued detention in the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
As the hearing kicked off, on Tuesday, counsel to the NDLEA, Sunday Joseph, said a further and better affidavit filed by Abba Kyari through his lawyer wliakiaas done out of time.

The NDLEA which is a respondent in the suit deemed the filing a breach of the Fundamental Rights Enforcement Procedure Rules, which should not be accommodated.
However, the Justice Inyang Ekwo insisted on having Abba Kyari’s counsel, Cynthia Ikena, go ahead with the case, but she surprisingly declined.
Justice Ekwo therefore stressed that the next adjourned date may be the last chance for Abba Kyari’s counsel to see through his rights enforcement suit or risk having it struck out.
