DSS declares Sunday Igboho wanted, advises him to surrender

The Nigerian Government has advised Yoruba militant, Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemi, popularly known as Sunday Igboho to surrender himself to appropriate authorities in his own interest.

The call was made by the Department of State Services, DSS in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya who briefed the media while parading suspects identified as Igboho’s foot soldiers explained that they were arrested during joint operation in raid on the residence of Sunday Igboho at Soka in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital. The operation followed intelligence report that Igboho allegedly had a stockpile of arms.

According to the DSS spokesperson, the joint team came under heavy gunfire by men suspected to be Igboho’s boys during which he leveraged on the incident to escape.

Afunanya noted that the team repelled the attack and arrested a total of 13 suspects including a female.
He however noted that this is the end of the road for Sunday Ignoho if he does not turn himself in to the authorities
