Nigeria’s Men basketball team D’Tigers, have qualified for the 2023 FIBA AfroCAN a tournament organised despite losing two Games and coming second behind hosts of the Zone three Qualifiers Cote D’Ivoire.
FIBA awarded the D’Tigers one of the two Wild Cards slots available as the second-best team in Zone 2 and 3 and the team has been grouped by the Basketball body in Group B alongside Angola and Mali.

The Coach Ogoh Daudu team which will be returning to the Country today will be working against time as they are expected to end their preparations for the tournament organised for only Africa-based basketball club players before departing for Angola ahead of the 8th of July kickoff date.
Nigeria is featuring at the AfroCAN for the second time after placing 11th overall at the first edition hosted by Mali and was won by D.R. Congo in 2019.
