The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians that the insecurity currently affecting parts of the country will soon become a thing of the past.
Akpabio gave the assurance in his Easter message delivered at the Field Major Convention of The Apostolic Church Nigeria held at Ikot Obong Edong in Ikot Ekpene.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Anietie Ekong, the Senate President acknowledged the pain many families are currently experiencing due to insecurity across the country.
According to him, many Nigerians have lost loved ones, including members of the armed forces and other security personnel who continue to risk their lives daily in defence of the nation.
Akpabio offered words of comfort to affected families, noting that their pain is shared by the entire country.

The Senate President expressed optimism that the Easter season would usher in renewed hope, peace, and security for the nation.
Drawing inspiration from the resurrection of Christ, he said he strongly believes Nigeria will ultimately overcome insecurity, evil, and fear.
He urged Nigerians to reject hatred and division, and instead embrace unity, compassion, and solidarity while renewing their faith in God and in the country’s future.

In his homily, the Field Superintendent of the Apostolic Church and host of the convention, E. O. Akpan, expressed confidence that through prayers of the church, the insecurity confronting the nation would soon give way to an era of peace and development.
