Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustained development, unity, and improved welfare for citizens.
In his 2026 Easter broadcast from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, the governor called on residents to reflect on the message of hope, sacrifice, and resurrection symbolised by Jesus Christ.
Governor Umo Eno said Easter remains a sacred reminder of faith, redemption, and selfless service, urging citizens to emulate the virtues of Christ.
He thanked the people for their continued support, noting that his administration’s ARISE Agenda has driven significant progress across key sectors.
The governor disclosed that over 1,300 kilometres of roads have been constructed, with an additional 167 kilometres recently approved, alongside ongoing projects in healthcare, education, and rural development.
He highlighted investments in agriculture, including a two billion naira grant to farmers and plans for a palm crop revolution aimed at boosting rural wealth.
Governor Eno also noted efforts to support small businesses and cooperatives, as well as the payment of over 82 billion naira in gratuities to retirees.
In infrastructure, he pointed to major projects such as the Ibom Deep Seaport, power sector reforms, and the expansion of the Victor Attah International Airport, with plans for international flights.
The governor assured that the state remains safe and economically vibrant while urging citizens to embrace unity, especially as the political season approaches.
