Movement of vehicles and passengers along the busy Enugu-Abakaliki highway was halted for many hours on Tuesday evening at the Ezilo axis as aggrieved youths took over the federal road following a renewed boundary dispute with neighboring Iyionu community, both in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
It however took the intervention of the State Governor, Dave Umahi, who rushed to the troubled area to calm the situation and restore the flow of traffic.
The angry youths said they blocked the highway in protest of the shooting of their leader by one of the soldiers deployed to the troubled area.
They told the Governor that the communal clash in the area would be a thing of the past if the Government demarcates their boundary.
