Ebonyi State Government has commenced construction of over Five Hundred Capacity Hostel Accommodation promised Ebonyi State College of Nursing Sciences, Uburu with a call for Donor Agencies and development partners to donate towards that direction

The Commissioner for Grants and Donor Agencies, Chief Solomon Azi who is charged to build and donate the Hostel to the college went to the site with the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Moses Ekuma where site engineers conducted them round the project site.

Chief Solomon Azi said the Hostel was a promise made by Governor Nwifuru on 19th May, 2025 during an unscheduled visit to the college and designed after the American B2 BOMBER Jet to bring stability in the institution and end complaints emanating from lack of accommodation among students of the college.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Moses Ekuma who took time to explain the achievements of the Governor in the Ministry including procurement of SUV cars for medical doctors, recruitment of medical personnel, procurement of hospital equipment, consumables and drugs said the construction of the Hostel became necessary following increased population of the students in the college as it has been accredited to train both nurses and midwives saying Governor, Nwifuru has special interest in the health sector.

The site engineer, Mr. Paul Buchi said the Hostel would be a one storey building which when completed would accommodate five hundred and four students with a Store, Sick Bay, Home Mother’s Lodge, Visitors waiting room and Courtyard with each room having two wardrobes and a convenience maintaining that the structure would look like a flying eagle, 🦅 hence the name B2 Hostel; patterned from the American B2 Boomer Jet.

The Provost of the College, Mrs. Patricia Nwankwegu represented by the deputy, Mrs. Juliet Ugbala said their joy knew no bounds for the love the State Governor has shown the college and pledged to ensure safety of man and materials of the engineers at site and to reciprocate the love with proper training of the students.
