Ebonyi State

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State Capital has granted leave to the Governorship candidate of the PDP, Ifeanyi Odii, and his APGA counterpart, Benard Odoh, to access election materials used by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC during the just concluded March 18 elections in the state.

Justice Lekan Ogunmoye led a three-man panel and gave the order following an ex-parte application filed by both candidates and their parties.

Counsel to Odii, Adams Oboke Esq. and that of Odoh, Decency Chukwu had argued that the order would aid their clients to inspect all the documents and materials used by the electoral umpire in getting ready their petitions.

In his ruling, Justice Ogunmoye granted the applications, saying they had the merit to inspect apart from the prayers of Counsel to the PDP in Schedule 15 of his prayers

PDP’s Ifeanyi Odii and APGA’s Benard Odoh are challenging the declaration of Francis Nwifuru of the APC as the winner of the March 18th Governorship election.
