Ebonyi police arrest 26 suspects over bloody gun duel in Afikpo

Twenty-six suspects have been arrested by the Police in Ebonyi state, South East Nigeria, in connection with the bloody gun duel that engulfed the Ekoli-Edda community in Afikpo south council Area of the state, on the 26th of December 2022.

But, the key suspects, the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Stanley Emegha, and the party’s House of Representatives candidate, Eni Uduma Chima, are not among the fourteen suspects set to be arraigned before the court by the police, as the culprits.

The boxing day fracas had led to the loss of three lives including that of a police inspector, as well as burning of houses and vehicles, and sundry other criminal acts.
