Ebonyi State Governor Nwifuru Directs Payment Of Monthly Allowances To Medical Doctors

The Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has directed for the payment of a Hundred and fifty thousand Naira monthly allowances to be incorporated in the salaries of all medical doctors in the State.

This gesture, according to the Governor, is to enable them meet up effectively with work and other sundry expenses.

Nwifuru gave the cheering news when a team of health workers paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor’s Lodge in the Ochudo Centenary city, Abakaliki.

The latest boost in the welfare of medical doctors in Ebonyi State is coming barely two weeks after the State government distributed operational vehicles to Medical doctors and ambulances to the General Hospitals in Ebonyi State.

The Governor assured of his readiness to reposition the State’s health sector and reduce medical tourism outside its shores.

Nwifuru went ahead to give a marching order to the Commissioner for Health in the State on what he said was a recent information he received about the downward payment of medical doctors salaries, directing the Commissioner to maintain their salary amounts, in addition to the new Hundred and fifty thousand Naira monthly allowances.

Addressing plans for educational scholarships and empowerments of rural women, the Governor emphasized the need for independent assessors on the actual people that would need the empowerments, assuring of his government’s support.
