Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi has issued an Executive Order lifting the suspension of Electoral Processes and Political Activities for the 2020 Council Areas Elections in the State.
The Governor also directs the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, EBSIEC to immediately commence activities for the conduct of the elections in the State as required by law.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Uchenna Orji, and the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Samuel Okoronkwo. The statement notes that the Governor’s action was in line with his powers under the Ebonyi State Coronavirus and Other Dangerous (Infectious) Diseases and Related Matters Law, 2020.
