The sixteenth Emir of Kano, Muhammed Sanusi the second has led thousands of Muslim unmma to observe the two rakat prayers to mark the Eid-el-Kabir being the first Sallah since his reinstatement.
The Eid prayer was observed at the Kofar Mata Jumu’at mosque due to heavy rain which fell over the night and flooded the premises of the Eid ground which could not be used by the mammoth crowd.
This is the first Edi prayer Sanusi Lamido is leading since his reinstatement as emir of Kano a few weeks ago.
Kano state Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is here with his cabinet members and other top government functionaries where they observed the prayer with the Emir.
Governor Abba Yusuf rekindled the hope of the people that they will continue to enjoy socio-economic growth under his leadership.
Commissioner for Education Umar Doguwa who spoke exclusively to AIT says the ban of Sallah Durber is immaterial as long as the people are happy with the Emir Sanusi’s leadership.
The traditional Salah visit of the governor to the Emir and that of the Emir to the Government House are still intact despite the ban on the Iconic Durbar Festival by the police citing security concerns.
