The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC says it is committed to the conduct of a free, fair and credible governorship election in Edo State on the 19th of September.
INEC’s National Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye gave the assurance when he visited the DAAR Communication Centre, Benin.
Okoye said, the commission’s stance is to provide a level playing field for all political parties, and that anti- COVID 19 measures have been mapped out for electoral officers and the electorate.

The state has two million, two hundred and ten thousand, five hundred and thirty four registered voters.
However, over four hundred and eighty thousand of the registered voters do not possesses voter cards, a perquisite for casting their ballots during the election in the over thirty five thousand polling units in the state’s eighteen local government areas.
