As activities gear up for the September 19 governorship election in Edo state, it has been a movement from various parties in the state to the PDP, the party of the incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki.
The latest of these is that of a former Edo senator, Roland Owie who has rejoined the PDP after being away for some years.
The former Edo senator with his supporters were received by Uhunwmonde Local Government Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Roland Owie, a former PDP senator from Ilobi Isi community in Uhumwode local government area of Edo state commended the leadership of the PDP for the new vigour in repositioning the party saying that recent developments in the polity of the nation and Edo state has reignited his conviction to realign with positive and progressive mainstream political forces on a rescue mission.
He said he is returning to the PDP, with a keen sense of purpose and a mission to work with the leadership of the PDP to ensure the victory of Governor Obaseki come September 19 governorship election to continue with the sustainable developmental blueprint for Edo State
Party leaders and members of Uhunmwonde Peoples Democratic Party while welcoming Rowland Owie and his supporters back to the PDP say it is a boost to the success of the party and being a founding member of the PDP in Edo state, there is assurance that the party will achieve victory for its candidate in the coming election.

Owie represented Edo south senatorial district at the national assembly on the platform of the PDP.
